School of Planning & Architecture Goes Solar, Partners With Amp Energy India

School of Planning & Architecture (SPA) Vijayawada on Monday inaugurated a rooftop project developed by Amp Energy India.

The 120kW solar rooftop plant has been developed under the rooftop scheme by Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for government entities. SPA and Amp Energy India have signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)under this scheme for the procurement of solar power for 25 years.

This solar plant will generate about 1.68 lakh units per year, catering to around 50% of the school’s energy consumption and saving 18%-20% on their electricity bill every year. In addition to economic savings, the plant will also help mitigate about 600 tons of CO2 per annum.

This project is one of the several solar projects developed by Amp Energy India for educational institutions in India. Amp India has already commissioned solar projects for Pondicherry University, National Law University (Bhopal) and Atal Bihari Vajpayee Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior among others.
