UAE has started the construction of its first green hydrogen project in the kingdom. Currently, the testing process is going on as per Suhail Al-Mazrouei, Energy Minister.
Green hydrogen is generated by splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen using a power supply from renewable energy. Green hydrogen reduces carbon emissions and is eco-friendly as compared to fossil fuels.
The United Arab Emirates plans to capture global hydrogen fuel markets by 25% by 2030. The country has around 7 hydrogen projects which it is currently working on and wants to export to countries like Germany, India, Japan, and South Korea.
UAE aims to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 and would invest $163 billion in renewable energy.
