BCPG Public Company Limited, a leading renewable energy company in Thailand and Asia-Pacific, won “Battery Storage Deal of The Year” from The Asset Triple A Infrastructure Awards 2021 by The Asset, Hong Kong’s financial magazine.
The award indicates BCPG’s success in financing its 10-MW wind power project, LomLigor, with a total financial support of THB 616.1 million.
BCPG’s LomLigor Project is located in Pak Panang district, Nakhon Si Thammarat province, Southern Thailand. It is the first wind farm in Thailand to adopt Energy Storage System (ESS), with a total production capacity of 1.88 MWh, as the solution to the intermittency of wind power.
The project gained financial support from three financial institutes – Asian Development Bank, Clean Technology Fund and Kasikorn Bank – and was legally advised by Chandler MHM Limited and Hunton Andrews Kurth (Thailand).
Earlier this month the company has announced the establishment of a new subsidiary “BCPG Formosa Co., Ltd.” (BCPG Formosa) to fully expand solar power business in Taiwan.
The new subsidiary is also aligned with BCPG’s growth plan in extending 2-time production capacity in 5 years.
According to Bundit Sapianchai, BCPG’s CEO, BCPG will acquire 100% equity in BCPG Formosa with an authorized capital of TWD 82 million. The company registration is expected to be complete within 2021.
