
Central Pattana Plc (CPN) receives sustainability awards from the Metropolitan Electricity Authority. The company received this for using energy efficiently at 10 office buildings and shopping centres. CPN is working to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 and have a better future.
Central Pattana Public Company Limited was established on June 17, 1980, with an initial registered capital of Baht 300 mn. In 1982, Central Pattana launched Central Ladprao, the first fully integrated shopping center in Thailand. Currently, its paid-up capital is Baht 2,244 mn, with a par value of Baht 0.5 per share, of which the majority is held by Central Holdings Co., Ltd.
Wallaya Chirathivat, CPN president and chief executive, said, “The energy awards given to us for 11 of our buildings are proof of our determination to become a net-zero organization by 2050. It brings pride and a morale boost to all of us at Central Pattana as we put great care and attention into every step of the development of our projects.”
CPN is the only company based out of Thailand that is included in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World) for 4 years and 8 years in DJSI Emerging Markets.
Chanavat Uahwatanasakul, CPN chief development, and the commercial officer said, “We are determined to develop all types of projects in which we have the expertise. These include shopping centres, office buildings, residential projects, and hotels. We intend for these to become the places for all generations where they can enjoy a good quality of life.”
The company has installed solar rooftops and uses thermal insulation for reducing indoor temperatures. Such steps have made it possible for the company to be part of this award.
