His Excellency Min Aung Hlaing, President of Myanmar, visited the NTPC Energy Technology Research Alliance (NETRA), the research and development arm of NTPC Limited, accompanied by a high-level ministerial delegation from Myanmar.
The delegation was received by Gurdeep Singh, Chairman and Managing Director of NTPC Limited, and Shaswattam, along with other senior officials of the company.
During the visit, the Myanmar delegation was briefed on NTPCโs growth trajectory, its previous engagements in Myanmar, and the companyโs ongoing efforts in research, innovation, and clean energy technologies aimed at supporting the global energy transition.
The delegation also toured NETRAโs advanced pilot facilities, including a 4 MW/1 MWh Solar Microgrid, a 3 MWh Vanadium Redox Flow Battery Energy Storage System, a Green Hydrogen Hub, and an Agri and Municipal Solid Waste Gasification-to-Power Plant. The facilities highlighted NTPCโs capabilities in renewable energy, energy storage, green hydrogen, and sustainable waste-to-energy technologies.
According to NTPC, President Min Aung Hlaing expressed strong interest in the company’s clean energy initiatives and emerging technology developments.
The visit provided an opportunity to showcase Indiaโs advancements in sustainable energy solutions while fostering discussions on strengthening bilateral cooperation in the energy sector. Areas of potential collaboration include capacity building, technology exchange, renewable energy deployment, and the development of sustainable energy infrastructure.
