Green hydrogen technology provider Ohmium has entered into a strategic partnership with Hynfra to support the development of green hydrogen and green ammonia projects across the Middle East and Africa, the companies announced.
Under the agreement, Hynfra will integrate Ohmium’s Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) electrolyzer technology into its planned portfolio of renewable hydrogen projects in the two regions. The collaboration aims to accelerate the deployment of large-scale green hydrogen facilities that support industrial decarbonization and the production of low-carbon fuels.
The partnership combines Hynfra’s expertise in project development and infrastructure with Ohmium’s PEM electrolyzer solutions, which are designed to produce green hydrogen using renewable electricity from solar and wind resources. The companies said the collaboration will focus on projects that can leverage the abundant renewable energy potential available across the Middle East and Africa.
Green ammonia production is expected to be a key component of the initiative, with projects targeting both domestic consumption and international export markets. Green ammonia is increasingly being viewed as a practical means of transporting renewable hydrogen and is gaining traction among countries seeking to reduce emissions from energy-intensive industries.
The Middle East and Africa have emerged as attractive locations for green hydrogen investment due to their strong renewable energy resources, competitive power generation costs, and access to global shipping routes. Several countries in the regions have announced strategies to develop hydrogen economies and establish themselves as suppliers of low-carbon fuels to international markets.
According to the companies, the partnership is intended to support the commercialization of renewable hydrogen projects and contribute to broader energy transition and decarbonization objectives. By combining technology deployment with project execution capabilities, the alliance seeks to accelerate the development of hydrogen infrastructure and strengthen the emerging green hydrogen value chain.
The announcement reflects growing momentum in the global hydrogen sector, where technology providers and project developers are increasingly collaborating to advance large-scale renewable hydrogen and green ammonia projects aimed at supporting industrial decarbonization and energy security goals.
