Sungrow, the global leading inverter solution supplier for renewables, announced the Company supplied string inverters to a 20.735MW rooftop PV plant in the manufacturing base of XPENG, a China-based emerging electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer. This plant demonstrates XPENG’s goal of achieving greener manufacturing which is powered by renewable energy.
The manufacturing base is located in Zhaoqing, China’s Guangdong province. This 20.735MW plant generates clean electricity of 21.33 GWh per year, equivalent to eliminating carbon dioxide of over 17,512 tons annually. The XPENG factory is now 30% powered by project-generated clean electricity and it’s expected to be 100% powered by renewable energy in the near future.
Sungrow inverters installed in the project feature optimal efficiency and high protection capability and anti-corrosion level, which is durable, strong and engineered for all-weather protection, ensuring incomparable yields for the project.
It’s not Sungrow’s first instance of powering an EV manufacturer. The Company offered cutting-edge inverter solutions to the Chinese EV startup NIO for its 5MW rooftop PV plant as well. The project has been operating efficiently, and consistently, and fuels the production decarbonization of NIO.
