Apraava Energy completed a solar electrification plant to supply the energy needs for more than 3,687 households in Madhya Pradesh’s Satpura Transco Private Ltd.
In 2020, it launched the project with SELCO Foundation. They focused on 14 villages in the Seoni Malwa district of Hoshangabad and Ashta district in Sehore. Inconsistent power supply caused multiple problems for the villagers.
Apraava Energy installed 52 solar streetlights within the village common areas. It provided basic solar solutions for powering fans and lights in Anganwadis, rural child care centers.
These systems will produce approximately 13.9 MWh per year of solar power and offset about 11.2 tons of carbon dioxide per year.
These villages are Nayagaon, Narri, Gotabarri, Nandarwara, Malapat around Seoni Malwa, and Chancharsi, Richhadiya, Kannod Mirzi, Awali Kheda, Thuriya, Kitya, Deosiralya, Sonkhedi, JanjalKhedi around Ashta.
CLP Group, a Hong Kong-based company, and Caisse de depot et placement du Quebec, a Canadian pension fund, jointly own Apraava Energy. It was established in 2002. It has a diverse portfolio that includes 3,150 MW installed capacity. This includes 924 MW wind power and 250 MW solar energy projects across seven states.
