Healthcare Global Enterprises Limited (HCG), one of India’s largest cancer hospital chains, has built a 2.25 MW solar power plant in Karnataka’s Jagaluru Village.
It is located in the Davangere District. This was done in an effort to conserve energy, promote sustainable healthcare, and reduce carbon footprint. The new power plant covers 7.2 acres. This project is HCG’s contribution to improving environmental and socio-economic factors through energy optimization and an effort to achieve zero emission. HCG’s flagship Bengaluru KR Road center and HCG Suchirayu hospital in Hubli are the locations for phase 1 of their solar power project.
The solar power plant will optimize energy consumption to the maximum extent. It is expected to produce power worth 1040 million units over 25 years and reduce carbon emissions up to 76,200 tons. It will also result in an average annual savings of Rs 4.2 crore. HCG plans to expand this initiative in the future as part of Phase 2.
On the energy conservation initiative, Dr. B S Ajaikumar, Executive Chairman of Healthcare Global Enterprises Ltd stated that “Maintaining the planet’s ecosystems are imperative for creating healthier worlds for the future generations. What better sector than healthcare to acknowledge the criticality and importance of this need.” HCG is pleased to lead this groundbreaking solar-powered sustainability project across our network, which will undoubtedly contribute to our healthcare sustainability goals.
CleanMax Enviro Energy Solutions Private Limited will support the project’s operations, maintenance and EPC services. HCG offers state-of the-art cancer treatment and is committed to conserving energy. HCG also has a solar power plant.
