The head of the regional electricity company in Khorasan Razavi Province said that 100 rooftop photovoltaic panels in Chah-Nasar Village, Neyshabour County were connected to the national grid as part of a policy to develop small-scale power stations in rural areas.
IRNA quoted Alireza Barati saying, “This is the biggest small-scale solar energy station project in Iran’s rural districts.”
Solar power will not only expand green energy but also generate income for families in need, thanks to the Energy Ministry’s guarantee of the purchase.
The panels have a 5-kilowatt capacity. According to a contract signed between Iran’s Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization and the households that own rooftop solar panels, the first is required to purchase electricity at approved prices by the Energy Ministry.
