In a significant move towards sustainable energy, WHA Corporation PCL and Prinx Chengshan Tire (Thailand) Co., Ltd. have signed a Power Purchase Agreement for Phase 2 of the Solar Rooftop system. The signing ceremony took place at WHA Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate 3 in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC).

The agreement was jointly signed by Ms Jareeporn Jarukornsakul, Chairman of the Executive Committee and Group CEO of WHA Corporation, Mr Somkiat Masunthasuwun, CEO of WHA Utilities and Power PLC, Mr Zhang You Gan, Managing Director of Prinx Chengshan Tire (Thailand) Co., Ltd., and Mr Wang Bing, Vice Managing Director of Prinx Chengshan Tire (Thailand) Co., Ltd.

The newly signed Power Purchase Agreement is for Phase 2 of the Solar Rooftop system, which will have a capacity of 4.80 MW. This comes after the successful commercial operations of Phase 1, with a capacity of 19.44 MW, which began in May this year. With the combined capacity of both phases, WHAUP solidifies its position as the operator of Thailand’s largest Solar Rooftop Project, boasting a total capacity of 24.24 MW.

Prinx Chengshan Tire (Thailand) Co., Ltd., established in 2018, serves as the first overseas production base of Prinx Chengshan Holding Co., Ltd. The company focuses on the research, development, manufacturing, and sales of green, safe, high-quality, and high-performance PCR tires and TBR tires. Currently, the annual production capacity stands at 8 million pieces for PCR tires and 2 million pieces for TBR tires.

The expansion of the Solar Rooftop project demonstrates the commitment of WHA Corporation and Prinx Chengshan Tire (Thailand) Co., Ltd. to sustainable practices and clean energy solutions. This collaboration further strengthens their presence in the renewable energy sector and contributes to the growth of Thailand’s green economy.
