VinES and SolarBK Collaborate to Drive Integrated Rooftop Solar and Battery Energy Storage Systems in Vietnam
VinES Energy Solutions Joint Stock Company, a subsidiary of Vingroup, and Bach Khoa Investment & Development Of Solar Energy Corporation (SolarBK) have officially signed a strategic agreement aimed at promoting locally manufactured integrated rooftop solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS) in Vietnam. The collaboration positions SolarBK as the authorized distributor of VinES’ BESS products, focusing on providing integrated solar rooftop and BESS solutions for residential and office segments across the country. As part of this agreement, SolarBK and VinES have announced the commencement of a pilot project involving the installation of 300 solar and BESS systems. To incentivize early adoption, the first 100 offices and households registering for system installation in 2023 will be offered special benefits.
Solana Solar Partners With Kratos RES To Supply Clean And Renewable Power In The Philippines
Solana Solar Alpha Inc. (Solana Solar), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Alternergy Group’s Solar Pacific Energy Corporation (Solar Pacific), announced the signing of a power supply agreement with Kratos RES, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Villar Group’s Prime Asset Ventures, Inc. (PAVI) engaged in retail electricity supply. Solana Solar will supply Kratos RES with 10 MW and up to 20 MW of clean and renewable power from the soon-to-be-built Solana Solar Power Project located in Hermosa, Bataan. The 20MWAC/28WDC Solana Solar Power Project has recently secured financing commitments from a leading Philippine commercial bank and a commitment for the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) from a leading EPC provider. Early works activities have started with the full-swing construction to commence in the coming months.
Philippines’ DOE Identifies 68 Renewable Energy Projects In Western Visayas
The Department of Energy (DOE) of the Philippines has announced its plans for renewable energy (RE) projects in Western Visayas, with 68 potential projects totalling 14,245 megawatts of capacity. Additionally, there are currently 29 operating projects with a combined installed capacity of 708 megawatts. The projects encompass various renewable energy sources, including 24 for hydropower, 17 for offshore wind, 14 for solar, 12 for onshore wind, and one for geothermal. The DOE is actively studying programs and policies to integrate renewable energy into the power mix. Western Visayas has made significant progress in transitioning to renewable energy, reaching 28 per cent as of 2021.
Citaglobal And PETRONAS Collaborate On Renewable Energy Technologies
Citaglobal Bhd entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Petronas Global Technical Solutions Sdn Bhd (PGTSSB), a wholly-owned subsidiary of PETRONAS, for strategic collaboration in a wide range of renewable energy technologies and applications. The agreement was signed during the Energy Asia conference, by Citaglobal’s Executive Chairman & President, Tan Sri (Dr.) Mohamad Norza Zakaria, and PETRONAS Global Technical Solutions Sdn Bhd Chief Executive Officer, Puan Annaliz Abu Bakar. The signing ceremony was witnessed by top PETRONAS executives including PETRONAS Senior Vice President of Project Delivery & Technology, Datuk Bacho Pilong, and PETRONAS Vice President of Group Project Delivery, Project Delivery & Technology, Encik Noor Ilias Mohd Idris.
Iloilo Provincial Government Allocates PHP30 Million For Renewable Energy Development
The provincial government of Iloilo has allocated PHP30 million this year to support the development of renewable energy sources. Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. announced that the funds will be used to establish hospital solar power facilities, starting with three identified locations. The Dr Ricardo Y. Ladrido Memorial District Hospital, Jesus M. Colmenares Memorial District Hospital, and Ramon D. Duremdes District Hospital will undergo rooftop photovoltaic installation. The Aleosan District Hospital in Alimodian is already in the process of installing a similar project. In addition, the provincial government plans to focus on existing renewable energy sources, particularly mini-hydroelectric power facilities in mountainous areas, using the 2023 budget.
