NTPC Ltd., the nation’s leading power generator with a current group installed capacity exceeding 73 GW, announced its unaudited financial results for Q1 FY24 on 29 July 2023.
During this quarter, the NTPC Group produced 103.98 Billion Units of power, slightly lower than the 104.42 Billion Units generated in Q1 FY23. NTPC’s standalone gross generation for Q1 FY24 stood at 88.55 billion Units, down from 90.49 Billion Units during the corresponding period in the previous year.
NTPC’s coal stations achieved an impressive Plant Load Factor (PLF) of 77.43% during Q1 FY24, surpassing the National Average of 70.38%.
On a standalone basis, NTPC’s Total Income for Q1 FY24 amounted to ₹39,681 crore, compared to ₹40,726 crore in the corresponding previous period. The Profit After Tax (PAT) for Q1 FY24 stood at ₹4,066 crore, indicating a notable increase of 9.39% when compared to ₹3,717 crore in Q1 FY23.
On a consolidated basis, the NTPC Group recorded a Total Income of ₹43,390 crore for Q1 FY24, slightly lower than ₹43,561 crore in the corresponding previous period. However, the Group’s Profit After Tax (PAT) for Q1 FY24 rose significantly to ₹4,907 crore, marking a substantial increase of 23.36% compared to ₹3,978 crore in the corresponding previous period.
