Juniper Green Energy, an established independent renewable energy power producer and operator, has achieved a significant milestone by crossing 1.2 GW of renewable energy capacity. The company secured recent Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and Letters of Award (LOAs) in the last few months, which contributed to this feat.
Among the recent achievements, Juniper Green Energy was awarded 190 MW of Wind capacity from GUVNL and 105 MW of Solar capacity from MSEDCL through competitive bidding and e-Reverse auctions. The average tariff for these projects stands at Rs. 3.00 (~$0.037) per kWh. The PPAs for these projects will span 25 years, and the company aims to complete the projects within 18-24 months.
In addition to the recent PPAs, Juniper Green Energy has commenced construction on its first Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) solar power project with a capacity of 140 MW. These combined projects will generate around 1.4 billion kWh of clean energy annually, contributing to a reduction of approximately 1.3 million tons of CO2 equivalent emissions each year. Moreover, the projects have the potential to provide green energy to power around 2.8 lakh households.
Naresh Mansukhani, CEO of Juniper Green Energy, expressed the company’s commitment to support the Indian government’s vision of a sustainable India, striving for net-zero emissions and promoting environmental sustainability. The company’s dedicated team is determined to make India a leader in solar energy and actively contribute to the nation’s renewable energy sector, supporting the transition to a more sustainable and greener planet.
