Under the PPA, SodaStream’s factories in Ashkelon and Idan Negev, which serve as the company’s main production facilities and export to over 48 countries worldwide, will be powered by clean electricity sourced from Enlight’s solar and storage facilities.

This milestone agreement aligns with SodaStream’s ambitious goal to transition all its global production sites in Israel to 100% renewable energy by the beginning of 2024 and achieve net-zero emissions by 2040. By partnering with Enlight, SodaStream aims to lead the way in the Israeli industry’s shift towards renewable energies, contributing to a drastic reduction in its carbon footprint and advancing its commitment to preserving the environment.

The agreement is a game-changer in the Israeli electricity market as it allows green power producers like Enlight to directly supply major companies like SodaStream. This strategic move is expected to accelerate the broader renewable energy transition in the Israeli economy.

Eyal Shohat, CEO of SodaStream International, emphasized the company’s unwavering commitment to environmental responsibility and its long-standing efforts to reduce single-use plastic waste, having eliminated approximately 5 billion single-use plastic bottles in 2022 alone. With the new market regulations supporting renewable energies, SodaStream takes pride in being a pioneer in the Israeli industry’s green transition and believes that the partnership with Enlight, a leader in renewable energy, will further advance their goal of achieving a 100% renewable energy transition across all production sites worldwide.
