Egypt is taking a significant step towards maximizing green energy production and addressing its drinking water needs with the launch of a project to establish and operate five Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) stations. These stations will generate electric power and produce drinking water on the northwest coast, all connected to a local grid and operated through the Build-Own-Operate (BOO) system for a duration of 25 years.
The initiative aligns with the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy’s efforts to harness renewable energy sources and boost sustainable development in the country.
The Egyptian Electricity Holding Company is now inviting qualified entities to participate in a competitive process by expressing their interest in the project. Interested parties are also required to provide their estimated tariff for the sale of electricity and potable water.
To access the necessary documents for participation, interested entities can visit the office of The General Manager of Purchases and Stores at the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy Building, located in the Administrative Capital on the 2nd floor.
The document acquisition period is from August 17, 2023, to August 30, 2023, with a fee of $500 payable to the company’s treasury either in cash or by certified cheque.
All proposals must be submitted to the specified address mentioned above no later than September 27, 2023, at 12:00 (noon) Cairo time. This project marks a significant milestone in Egypt’s pursuit of sustainable energy and clean water solutions.
