The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy of South Africa announces the launch of the Seventh Bid Submission Phase (Bid Window 7) under the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producers Procurement Programme (REIPPPP).
This phase aims to procure 5000 MW from Solar Photovoltaic and onshore Wind projects, including 1800 MW of Solar PV and 3200 MW of onshore Wind.
Prospective bidders are required to pay a non-refundable documentation fee of R25,000, complete an electronic registration form, and adhere to the submission deadlines. The Request for Proposals (RFP) will be available for download from December 14, 2023.

This round seeks proposals for 615 MW battery energy storage and Ancillary Services. The bid window includes eight facilities near identified Eskom substations.
