NTPC Reaches Record 300 Billion Units Generation, Demonstrating Dedication to Operational Excellence

On December 18, 2023, the NTPC Group hit a significant milestone, achieving the fastest-ever generation of 300 Billion Units (BU) during the fiscal year 2023-24. This accomplishment was realized in just 262 days, a remarkable 18 days ahead of the previous financial year. For FY 2022-23, the 300 BU generation mark was reached on January 5, 2023. On a standalone basis, NTPC stations accounted for 256 BU generation in FY 2023-24.

This achievement further solidifies NTPC’s commitment to providing reliable and cost-effective power supply to the nation.

Despite boasting an installed capacity of approximately 74 GW, with over 18 GW capacityโ€”including 5 GW in Renewablesโ€”currently under construction, NTPC remains steadfast in its pursuit of achieving a Renewable Energy capacity of 60 GW by 2032.

Beyond power generation, NTPC has diversified its interests into various emerging sectors such as e-mobility, Waste-to-Energy, Green Hydrogen solutions, and has actively participated in power distribution bidding for Union Territories.
