KenGen Seeks Consulting Services For 42.5MW Solar PV Power Project

Kenya Electricity Generating Company PLC (KenGen), a key player in the country’s power generation, has invited expressions of interest for consulting services related to the supervision and management of the 42.5MW Seven Forks Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Power Project. The initiative aligns with KenGen’s commitment to enhancing the nation’s electricity generation capacity.

The scope of services for the selected consultant includes a comprehensive review of project documentation, assistance in pre-qualification of EPC contractors, support in tender documentation, bidding, evaluation, pre-contract discussions, and the ultimate award of the EPC contract. The consultant will play a crucial role in design review, approval of the EPC contractor’s design documentation, and oversight of construction and commissioning.

The Seven Forks Solar PV Power Project aims to contribute to Kenya’s renewable energy portfolio and address the growing electricity demand. The project’s expected duration is fifty-eight calendar months, showcasing a long-term commitment to sustainable energy solutions.

Interested consulting firms are encouraged to submit their expressions of interest, adhering to eligibility criteria specified in the procurement guidelines for AFD-financed contracts. The evaluation process will consider factors such as the size and nature of past experiences, technical expertise, and geographical presence in Sub-Saharan Africa.
