Navitas Solar Introduces High-Performance Mono PERC Half Cut Bifacial Solar Modules

Leading Indian module manufacturer Navitas Solar has extended its portfolio with a powerful and reliable Mono PERC Half Cut Solar Bifacial Modules Series-Navitas Bifacial. Mono PERC Half Cut modules –Navitas Bifacial are available in 12 Bus bar, 132 cells that can generate power from 660 to 680 watts per panel. In addition, the panels are available in 10 bus bars in 108, 120, 132, 144 cells which can generate power in the range of 390 to 560 watts. Navitas Bifacial modules are available with Transparent Backsheet as well as in Glass to Glass also.

Bifacial modules produce solar power from both sides of the panel (front & rear) whereas traditional mono facial panels can generate power from only one side of the panel. In Bifacial module, front surface faces the sun directly while rear surface captures diffused radiation. With two absorption surfaces, bifacial solar panels produce more electrical energy than mono facial panels especially in cloudy weather conditions.

Bifacial modules with frames are preferred as they are more stable and can be installed easier. The junction boxes for Bifacial modules are designed to be shallow so that they don’t cause any shadow on the rear surface.

The albedo describes the reflectivity of a non-luminous surface. It is determined by the ratio between the light reflected from the surface and the incident radiation. Albedo is usually expressed as a percentage. The higher the reflectivity of a surface, the higher its albedo. A study says that bright white roofing foil with 80% albedo gives maximum additional energy yield while installed at 0.5 m height. With Bifacial Module many configurations are possible for installation of solar power plants like horizontal, vertical, fixed tilt, with trackers etc. Glass to Glass modules are heavier in weight than Glass to Transparent Backhseet ones. Bifacial panels are really effective with appropriate rear surface reflector, slope and direction. Navitas Bifacial Modules are useful for utility scale while others are more suited for rooftop applications. Navitas Bifacial modules are ideal provides better shading tolerance, provides lower LCOE and system cost, gives excellent temperature performance. With Navitas Bifacial panels, generation can be increased upto 25% compared to mono facial modules.
