The Gierre Solare Project is projected to have a capacity of 32MW Solar PV, while the NM Solare Project is expected to have a capacity of 30MW. Both projects have already secured land and grid access, completed feasibility studies, and have planning applications in progress.
Stefano Romanin, Director and Chief Executive Officer of Westbridge, expressed optimism about the Italian market’s potential, highlighting it as a strong market with a promising long-term outlook for renewable energy. He emphasized the company’s commitment to leveraging its team’s experience and track record in developing renewable projects in Italy. Additionally, Romanin underscored the strategic significance of diversifying the company’s presence across Europe, which aligns with its origination-to-monetization model.
Furthermore, Romanin emphasized the recent sale of the Georgetown Solar project, which has provided Westbridge with strengthened capabilities to expand its project pipeline and fuel its growth strategy. He noted that the sale has also delivered value to all Westbridge shareholders.
The European expansion of Westbridge’s solar portfolio and its future development plans for Italian projects follow the successful sale of the Georgetown Solar project to a subsidiary of MYTILINEOS Energy & Metals.
