Honโble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has inaugurated NTPC Darlipali Super Thermal Power Station (2×800 MW), NSPCL Rourkela PP-II Expansion Project (1×250 MW), and laid the foundation stone for NTPC Talcher Thermal Power Project, Stage-III (2×660 MW). This represents a total investment of Rs 28,978 Crore in Sambalpur.
Located in Sundargarh district, Odisha, the Darlipali STPP utilizes Supercritical Technology, delivering affordable power to states like Odisha, Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Gujarat, and Sikkim.
NTPC’s Talcher Thermal Power Project, Stage-III in Angul district replaces the old TTPS plant and employs highly efficient Ultra Super Critical Technology. It triples the capacity and allocates 50% of the power to Odisha while benefiting Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, and Assam.
Featuring modern environmental features like efficient electrostatic precipitator and Flue gas desulphurization, the project aims to reduce Specific Coal Consumption and CO2 emissions.
Beyond job creation, these projects enhance physical infrastructure and foster community development through initiatives in education, healthcare, sanitation, and more. NTPC’s Medical College cum Hospital in Sundargarh, Odisha, is a testament to its commitment to regional welfare.
