Coal India Invites EOI for Solar EPC Contractors: Empanelment for Ground-Mounted and Floating Projects

Coal India has issued an invitation for expressions of interest to empanel engineering procurement and construction (EPC)-cum-operation and maintenance (O&M) contractors for both ground-mounted and floating solar power projects.

The empanelment period will span two years initially, with the possibility of a further extension of two years.

Contractors will be categorized into three groups:
โ€ข Category I: Up to 50 MW
โ€ข Category II: Above 50 MW and up to 100 MW
โ€ข Category III: Above 100 MW

Bidders have the option to apply for all categories or select specific ones.

The deadline for bid submission is March 4, 2024, with bids being opened the following day.

For Category I, bidders are required to have completed three similar projects, each with a capacity of at least 5 MW, or two projects of 6.25 MW, or one project of 10 MW within the past seven years.

Category II applicants should have completed three similar projects, each with a capacity of at least 15 MW, or two projects of 18.75 MW, or one project of 30 MW within the past seven years.

For Category III, bidders must have completed three similar projects, each with a capacity of at least 30 MW, or two projects of 37.5 MW, or one project of 60 MW within the past seven years.

Bidders must have an average annual financial turnover of at least โ‚น55 crores for Category I, โ‚น160 crores for Category II, and โ‚น315 crores for Category III for the past three years.

Their net worth as of the last day of each of the previous three fiscal years should be positive.

Bidders must submit a certificate of sufficient working capital of at least โ‚น350 million for Category I, โ‚น70 crores for Category II, and โ‚น140 crores for Category III.
