Construction has commenced on the ‘Kaba 2’ solar power plant located in Eastern Hungary, marking MET Group’s seventh photovoltaic project in the region. With commercial operations set to begin in the second half of 2024, this 23 MWp photovoltaic facility will span nearly 32 hectares and incorporate over 33,000 solar panels. Situated in the municipality of Kaba, approximately 200 km east of Budapest, the project stems from MET Group’s in-house greenfield development efforts, initiated following the successful commissioning of the MET Kabai Solar Park (KSP) project in 2021.
An intriguing aspect of the Kaba 2 construction process involves the integration of AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology to support the project management team. Utilizing data captured by drones, the software will analyze various aspects of construction progress, ensuring adherence to design specifications, timelines, and efficiency standards while minimizing errors.
