Following the completion of G-Park Zevenaar, one of Europe’s largest renewable energy installations, GLP Clean Energy facilitated the agreement, managed through independent energy operator Scholt Energy. Under the terms of the PPA, Fastned will exclusively utilize all renewable electricity generated by the solar PV project at G-Park Zevenaar for its fast charging stations in the Netherlands.

G-Park Zevenaar, situated in the Netherlands, hosts a significant roof-mounted solar PV project with a total installed capacity of 16.2 MWp. This initiative is estimated to reduce approximately 5,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually, contributing to environmental sustainability. Over its lifetime, the project is projected to mitigate around 80,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions or the equivalent of planting 150,000 trees.

GLP is committed to advancing renewable energy solutions across its global real estate portfolio, including on-site solar installations, potentially complemented by battery storage and depot charging infrastructure for electric vehicles.

Stefano Fissolo, Senior Director of GLP Clean Energy for Europe, expressed enthusiasm for the PPA agreement, highlighting its alignment with GLP’s clean energy initiative and rooftop PV program on logistics buildings. The agreement signifies a step forward in GLP’s efforts to support sustainable practices and drive societal transition towards a greener future.

Michiel Langezaal, CEO of Fastned, emphasized the importance of securing sustainably generated power for its fast charging network. The long-term agreement not only ensures a stable supply of renewable electricity for Fastned’s customers but also contributes to the development of new sustainable energy projects. This partnership reinforces both companies’ commitment to accelerating the transition to electric mobility and promoting environmental stewardship.
