Illuminating Tomorrow: JinkoSolar’s Vision for Clean Energy Innovations – Insights from Edgard ABOUKHEIR -Technical services Manager MENA

1. How does JinkoSolar’s vertical integration approach, from silicon wafer and cell to module production, enhance the quality and efficiency of its products?

Growatt

Jinko Solar takes a vertically integrated approach, giving us control over the entire solar panel production process, from wafers production to cells and finally PV modules. This allows us to Optimize production schedules, maintain high quality by controlling every step of production, and implementing tough quality checks throughout the process, reducing defects, and ensuring consistent quality in the products. Jinko Solar’s commitment to vertical integration is further emphasized by the construction of the world’s largest vertically integrated 56GW N-type TOPCon super factory. This investment showcases our leadership in adopting this next-generation solar technology.

2. What strategies has JinkoSolar employed to maintain its global leadership in module shipments, considering its cumulative shipments exceeding 200 GW?

JinkoSolar is a dominant player in the solar panel industry, ranking among the top global companies and holding a significant market share of 15% globally. We achieved a milestone in 2023 by surpassing 200GW in total module shipments. JinkoSolar is also a pioneer in N-type TOPCon technology by being the first company in China to mass produce N-type modules, starting with pilot lines in 2018 and rapidly scaling to GW-level production by 2019. This commitment to N-type leadership extends beyond initial production. JinkoSolar’s dedicated R&D team is constantly working to refine and improve this technology, ensuring we stay ahead of the curve and solidify our position as a leader in the N-type TOPCon market.

3. How does JinkoSolar’s liquid cooling battery cabinet enhance energy storage capabilities, and what are its unique benefits compared to traditional battery cabinets?

Jinko Solar introduced the concept of “Safe and Intelligent Energy Storage,” building a multi-level collaborative control strategy for Energy Storage Systems (ESS) using liquid cooling technology. This approach offers several advantages, including:

  • Precise Temperature Control: The refined pipeline design achieves a highly uniform temperature distribution across the cells, maintaining a difference of less than 2.5°C. This is achieved with a 20% reduction in power consumption compared to traditional cooling methods.
  • Enhanced Safety: A multi-layered protection system safeguards against uncontrolled heat spread. This includes cell-level safeguards, a deflagration venting system with gas fire protection, and water suppression for ultimate safety.
  • Optimized Performance: Incorporates cluster management technology, boosting system efficiency by 1%. Additionally, cell-to-cell active balancing ensures consistent performance across all cells.
  • Intelligent Monitoring and Maintenance: Real-time, cell-level monitoring empowers proactive maintenance and maximizes operational efficiency.
  • Increased Energy Density:  Liquid cooling allows for more compact container designs, resulting in a 15% higher energy density compared to air-cooled systems.

4. Can you provide examples of JinkoSolar’s pioneering advancements in building integration photovoltaic?

JinkoSolar has been at the forefront of innovation in Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) solutions. Our diverse product portfolio includes curtain wall systems, colored steel panels, and solar tiles, catering to residential, commercial, and industrial applications. These BIPV products seamlessly blend high-performance power generation using Topcon technology. JinkoSolar’s BIPV solutions boast a key advantage: complete customization based on specific project needs and applications. Notably, we have a proven track record with over 400MW of successful projects implemented globally including the MENA region. One of the main projects is the DEWA HQ in Dubai which achieved the biggest net-zero building in the region.

5. What upcoming product showcases or innovations can customers expect from JinkoSolar in the near future, and how do these align with the company’s mission of enabling a sustainable future through clean energy solutions?

Driven by the mission of ‘Changing the energy portfolio and taking responsibility for the future,’ we continuously innovate a globalized approach to create a new value chain within the photovoltaic industry. This dedication to progress extends to developing new photovoltaic panels for diverse applications including:

  • Offshore modules designed to withstand harsh maritime environments.
  • Anti-dust modules that minimize dust accumulation, reducing maintenance needs.
  • Three-advantage modules with enhanced wind, hail, and fire resistance.
  • Our flagship product, the 66-cell rectangular wafer module, promises highly competitive pricing and ultra-low Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) for projects.
  • Neo Green modules which are produced in factories that utilize renewable energy sources or offset carbon emissions at every stage, from silicon crystal pulling to final module assembly. This comprehensive approach ensures a net-zero carbon footprint for Neo Green products.
