Amara Raja Infra Private Limited (ARIPL), a subsidiary of the $1.75 billion Amara Raja Group, announced its acquisition of a substantial solar Balance of System (BoS) project. The contract, awarded by Greenko, one of India’s leading renewable energy companies, is for a 500MW/700MWp capacity project. This makes it the largest solar project undertaken by ARIPL to date.
The project will be developed on a 2,200-acre site near Uyyalavada Town in the Kurnool District of Andhra Pradesh. As part of Greenkoโs Integrated Renewable Energy Project, which is recognized as the worldโs first and largest gigawatt-scale project combining solar, wind, and pumped storage components, ARIPL will handle the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) of the entire BoS for the 700 MWp capacity.
This new project brings ARIPLโs order book to a total of Rs 1,516 crore for the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2024. The company expressed pride in continuing to be the preferred partner for major renewable players like Greenko, attributing its rapid growth and significant scale to the credibility it holds with its clients.
Vikramadithya Gourineni, Executive Director of ARIPL, emphasized the companyโs significant advancements in the solar industry, crediting their success to the trust and confidence their clients have in them. Dwarakanadha Reddy, Business Head at Amara Raja Infra (Power), also highlighted the importance of this project as an opportunity to demonstrate their capabilities in the dynamic and evolving solar sector.
