Soltec to Supply 367 MW of SFOne Trackers for X-ELIO’s Major Solar Project in Lorca, Murcia

Soltec, a leading company specializing in photovoltaic projects with solar trackers, has secured a major contract to supply 367 MW of its SFOne tracker technology for an upcoming project by X-ELIO. The project, set to be located in the municipality of Lorca, within the Region of Murcia, marks a significant step towards renewable energy adoption in the region.

The photovoltaic plant, equipped with Soltec’s SFOne trackers known for their competitiveness and low visual impact, will consist of 5,948 trackers in total. Scheduled to commence at the end of February, Soltec has not only supplied the trackers but also contributed to field testing and technical planning of the plant.

The project is expected to create over 300 direct job opportunities during its commissioning phase, with a focus on hiring local workers and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). With an investment of approximately 270 million euros, the development of this project underscores the commitment to sustainable energy initiatives in the region.

Raúl Morales, CEO of Soltec, expressed pride in contributing to the decarbonization efforts in the Murcian economy and being part of the largest photovoltaic plant in the Region of Murcia. Collaboration with X-ELIO, a key player in the industry, further highlights the significance of this endeavor. Morales emphasized the positive impact of the solar plant on both decarbonization goals and the local economy.

The installation of the solar plant is projected to prevent the emission of around 148,328 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere annually. Moreover, it is estimated to generate 748,000 MWh of clean energy in its first year, supplying the equivalent annual consumption of 215,000 households with sustainable power.
