Makueni County, Kenya Partners With British High Commission To Boost Renewable Energy

One significant area of partnership is the establishment of a state-of-the-art County Energy Center at Kisingo Technical Training Institute, aimed at serving both the county and the broader region.

During their visit, the UK PACT team, along with county officials for Energy and Environment, inspected the Makueni County Referral Hospital’s ongoing solar panel installation project. Jointly funded by the UK and the county government, the project will generate 200 kilowatts of solar power, enabling the hospital to rely entirely on solar energy. This initiative is expected to save the hospital Sh 7 million annually in power costs.
