Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) announced the results of its 500 MW solar auction, highlighting significant awards and competitive tariffs. Avaada Energy secured 200 MW at โ‚น2.68/kWh, while KPI Green Energy won 120 MW at โ‚น2.67/kWh. Blupine Energy, NCR Industries, and Hinduja Renewables were awarded 40 MW, 10 MW, and 130 MW, respectively, at โ‚น2.69-2.72/kWh. This auction reflects GUVNL’s commitment to solar infrastructure, promoting renewable energy in Gujarat, and supporting India’s green energy goals.

Haryana Approves 800 MW Renewable Energy Purchase From SJVN To Meet Growing Energy Demands

The Haryana Power Purchase Centre (HPPC) sought approval to procure 800 MW of renewable energy from SJVN Limited at โ‚น4.45/kWh for 25 years. This energy, sourced from ISTS-connected projects with storage systems, aims to meet Haryana’s rising energy needs and Renewable Purchase Obligations (RPOs). Approved by the Commission, this agreement ensures 70% Capacity Utilization and 90% peak hour availability. The move aligns with Haryana’s renewable energy goals, offering cleaner, more affordable electricity and enhancing energy security and sustainability.

Major Solar Project Signed Between BluPine Energy And Dalmia Cements Limited In Karnataka

BluPine Energy has announced the signing of a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Dalmia Cements Limited (Bharat) to establish a 46.8 MWp solar project in Karnataka. Upon completion, this venture is anticipated to produce approximately 93 million units of power annually, effectively offsetting over 85 thousand tonnes of CO2 emissions per year. Under a captive open-access model, Dalmia Bharat holds a 26% stake in the BluPine Energy SPV.

Meeting Peak Demand: Haryanaโ€™s 689 MW Round-The-Clock Power Procurement Bid

The Haryana Power Purchase Centre (HPPC) petitioned the Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission to approve 689 MW of round-the-clock power procurement via competitive bidding for June 1 to July 31, 2024, to address peak summer and paddy season power deficits. Despite efforts including short-term tenders and additional power sources, HPPC projected deficits up to 2,411 MW. The tender through the National e-bidding portal resulted in average rates of โ‚น8.22 per unit for June and โ‚น6.32 per unit for July.

The Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) approved Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd.’s (TPDDL) Supplementary Power Sale Agreement with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for 100 MW of solar power. The agreement, originally set in 2018, faced regulatory and legal challenges, particularly over tariff rates and trading margins. The DERC’s approval, pending a Supreme Court ruling on trading margins, aims to ensure a stable solar power supply for North and Northwest Delhi, supporting renewable energy integration and sustainability goals.

In a recent 500 MW Phase II Hybrid (Wind-Solar) project auction by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL), key players secured significant capacities. KPI Green Energy won 50 MW at โ‚น3.33/kWh, Juniper Green secured 120 MW at โ‚น3.34/kWh, and JSW Energy obtained 180 MW at โ‚น3.39/kWh, though initially bidding for 200 MW. This public sector undertaking invites online bids for the Design, Engineering, Supply, Construction, Erection, Installation, Testing, and Commissioning of a solar power plant with a capacity of 23 MW (AC) and a minimum DC overload capacity of 40%.
