MTR Solar has announced a significant contract with Risen Energy to acquire 1 gigawatt (GW) of solar modules equipped with advanced heterojunction technology (HJT). This deal encompasses approximately 1.4 million solar modules, set for delivery over the next 12 months. The Hyper-ion modules, featuring 210mm type N cells and exceeding 700 watts peak (Wp) power, will cater to distributed generation plants with capacities ranging from 1 to 5 megawatts (MW).

The solar modules will be shipped directly from China to Brazil, requiring the transport of 2,000 containers. Notably, these modules are built with a steel alloy structure, offering 31% greater mechanical resistance compared to traditional aluminum structures. This choice of material also enhances sustainability, reducing carbon emissions by 6.2 times and cutting energy consumption by a factor of three during production.

MTR Solar, already a leading distributor for Risen Energy in Latin America, anticipates a 30% increase in equipment sales by year-end thanks to this new contract. Currently, MTR Solar has 1.8 GWp installed across more than 480 plants, utilizing over 2.2 million modules.

Thiago Rios, CEO of MTR Group, highlighted the company’s success, noting a 33% growth in equipment sales from January to May 2024 compared to the same period in 2023. “We operate as a one-stop-shop, offering complete solutions for customers, including equipment, structures, and delivery logistics for each solar plant,” Rios stated. He explained that MTR Solar handles the import and delivery of Risen’s modules, coordinating with customers’ project schedules.

The logistics for transporting the modules are managed by CT Botelho, a subsidiary of the MTR group. Rios emphasized the cost savings and efficiency of MTRโ€™s integrated approach, ensuring clients do not need to engage multiple companies for import, purchase, and transport.

Ricardo Marchezini, Country Manager of Risen Energy Brasil, expressed enthusiasm about the agreement. “This deal reaffirms our commitment to innovation and sustainability while bolstering our expansion in Latin America. It opens new market opportunities and strengthens long-term partnerships,” Marchezini said. He added that the trust demonstrated by MTR Solar underscores the excellence of Risen Energy’s products and services, motivating continued investment in high-efficiency clean energy solutions.
