Solar Inverter Industry Launches Bid for Important Project of Common European Interest (IPCEI)

The European solar industry launched an initiative to develop an Important Project of Common European Interest (IPCEI) for solar inverters.During the presentation of the paper “Inverters 2.0: Strengthening Europe’s Inverter Industry,” industry representatives introduced the IPCEI concept to Kerstin Jorna, the European Commission’s Director-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship, and SMEs.

European inverters have a significant opportunity to leverage technological advancements crucial for the electrification and digitalization of the energy system. The IPCEI aims to ensure that the EU inverter ecosystem maintains its global innovation edge.

Facing increasing pressure and competition, European inverter manufacturers need a swiftly implemented IPCEI to drive innovative and sustainable investments, enabling Europe to keep pace with global advancements.
