Tata Power Solar Systems Limited has launched a transformative rooftop solar initiative aimed at powering every home in Uttar Pradesh (UP) with clean energy. Beginning in Varanasi, the ambitious ‘Ghar Ghar Solar, Tata Power ke Sang’ initiative promises substantial financial savings and environmental benefits for residents through state-of-the-art Rooftop Solar Solutions (RTS).
Consumers in the state can avail themselves of a maximum subsidy of up to Rs. 1,08,000 on rooftop solar installations. This includes a Central Government subsidy of Rs. 78,000 for up to 3 kW and an additional Rs. 30,000 (Rs. 15,000 per kW) for up to 3 kW from the State Government, on top of the Central Government subsidy.
Tata Power Solarโs commitment to quality and innovation ensures that this initiative will significantly boost the regionโs energy availability and sustainability. With a robust network of channel partners, Tata Power is well-positioned to offer expedited rooftop solar connections to the residents of Varanasi and Uttar Pradesh. Dr. Praveer Sinha, CEO& MD, Tata Power, said, โOur mission at Tata Power Solar is to drive a sustainable energy future. With the launch of our rooftop solar solutions in Uttar Pradesh, we provide residents with the best available opportunity to significantly reduce their energy bills and contribute to a greener environment. Our three decades of expertise, advanced technology such as bifacial modules, easy financing, trained workforce, and robust channel partner network guarantee a hassle-free switch to solar power.โ
Residents in Uttar Pradesh can take advantage of local state government subsidies, making solar adoption even more appealing. These subsidies, combined with significant savings on electricity bills, offer substantial financial relief to homeowners.
Switching to solar energy provides tremendous economic benefits. A typical household installing a 3 kW solar rooftop system, with an initial investment of around INR 1.08 lakh (eligible for a subsidy of INR 1.08 lakh), can generate 12 units of electricity daily, translating to approximately 360 units per month. With the average electricity tariff in Varanasi, this setup can save residents up to INR 27,000 per year on their electricity bills.
Additionally, net metering allows residents to earn credits for any excess electricity generated by their solar systems and fed back into the grid. This not only further reduces their electricity bills but also ensures that no generated power goes to waste, enhancing the overall financial benefits of switching to solar energy.
