KBR has secured an advisory consulting contract from Kuwait Oil Company to develop a comprehensive master plan for producing 17 GW of renewable energy and 25 GW of green hydrogen by 2050.
The 18-month project will involve creating a phased strategy for deploying wind and solar power, integrating power storage, and linking this to green hydrogen production for both domestic use and export.
KBR will also conduct market analysis, and feasibility studies, and train Kuwaiti nationals. Jay Ibrahim, KBR President of Sustainable Technology Solutions, expressed enthusiasm about contributing to Kuwaitโs national energy transition strategy and underscored KBRโs commitment to sustainability and strategic growth in the region.
