Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) has announced the release of a Request for Selection (RFS) for setting up Grid Connected Solar Power Plants. This initiative is part of the solarization of segregated agricultural feeders at distribution sub-stations, with a total capacity of 3205 MW. The power generated will be sold to Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL).
The tendering process will be conducted through a tariff-based competitive bidding process under the PM KUSUM scheme’s Component C2, which focuses on feeder level solarization. Interested bidders can view, download, and submit their e-bid documents via the ISN-ETS Portal (www.bharat-electronictender.com) and the UPNEDA website (www.upneda.gov.in).

The scope of the project includes the design, engineering, supply, construction, and commissioning of grid-connected solar power plants, along with comprehensive operation and maintenance for 25 years. The plants will be set up in accordance with the applicable laws, grid code, and terms of the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
Bidders will be selected based on the lowest tariff offered for the supply of solar power over a period of 25 years. The projects are expected to be commissioned within 12 months from the effective date of the PPA.
Financial support includes Central Financial Assistance (CFA) of up to ₹1.05 crore per MW and Viability Gap Funding (VGF) of up to ₹50 lakh per MW from the Government of Uttar Pradesh. The CFA and VGF will be released in installments based on project milestones.
