In his first meeting with Japanese Ambassador Oka Hiroshi, Egyptโ€™s Minister of Finance, Ahmed Kouchouk, highlighted the strong and diverse partnership between Egypt and Japan across various fields. He emphasized the joint efforts to drive economic development and improve living standards in Egypt.

Kouchouk stated, โ€œOur financial policies will support investment in health and education and enhance productive and export capabilities. We look forward to deepening development partnerships in the sectors of human development and green investment.โ€

The Minister praised successful models of Egyptian-Japanese cooperation, including Japanese schools and universities, the underground metro, comprehensive health insurance, and clean energy generation projects. He also acknowledged Egypt’s first green bond issue in the Japanese market, which attracted new segments of environmentally-focused investors.

Ambassador Hiroshi presented a report on the recent increase in Japanese private investments in Egypt, highlighting key sectors such as the automobile industry, clean energy generation, industrial supplies, food products, and home appliances.

Kouchouk encouraged the Japanese business community to capitalize on the competitive economic opportunities in Egypt. He emphasized the stateโ€™s commitment to increasing the private sector’s role in economic activities to drive industry, production, and exports.
