The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fund, under the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, has officially entered into a partnership with the USAID Business Growth Project to advance energy efficiency technologies for factories. The agreement was formalized today, Wednesday, with the signing conducted by Director General Rasmi Hamza for the Fund and Wafaa Aranki for the USAID Business Growth Project, in the presence of delegates from both organizations.
Rasmi Hamza, Director of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fund, emphasized the Fund’s commitment to boosting the competitiveness of the industrial sector by lowering energy costs and reducing carbon dioxide emissions. He highlighted the importance of this collaboration, noting the Fund’s ongoing efforts to work with various donors to achieve these objectives.
Wafaa Aranki, Director of the USAID Business Growth Project, underscored the project’s role in supporting industries, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises, by promoting energy efficiency policies. Aranki called for continued joint efforts to meet shared goals and commended the Fund’s dedication to supporting the business sector and emerging companies.
Lina Mobaideen, Head of the Project Development Department at the Fund, reiterated the organization’s commitment to fostering local and international partnerships. She emphasized that the program aligns with the Fund’s strategic goals to leverage renewable energy and optimize energy use.
The new program aims to enhance industrial competitiveness by reducing energy expenses and emissions. It will provide energy audit studies, fully funded up to 10,000 Jordanian dinars, along with expert technical support from the Fund. This initiative is a significant step towards implementing green practices and ensuring the sustainability of medium and small factories.
The USAID Business Growth Project focuses on integrating women, youth, and persons with disabilities into its objectives, supporting the productivity and competitiveness of small and medium enterprises in Jordan. Through this agreement, both parties aim to improve factory energy efficiency, foster innovation, and create employment opportunities.
This collaboration marks a vital advance in Jordan’s efforts to promote energy efficiency and sustainability across its industrial sector.
