GE Vernova today unveiled its new GRiDEA portfolio, a comprehensive suite of solutions aimed at decarbonizing the electrical grid, at the CIGRE power systems event in Paris. The GRiDEA portfolio is designed to support the global transition to a more sustainable energy future by reducing emissions and improving grid efficiency.

The portfolio includes high-voltage SF6-free products, such as the g3 technology, which significantly reduces CO2 equivalent emissions by 99% compared to traditional SF6-based equipment. GRiDEA also features new gaseous SF6-free technology for live tank circuit breakers, capable of operating in extremely low temperatures, thereby broadening its application in diverse environments.

Philippe Piron, CEO of GE Vernovaโ€™s Electrification Systems business, highlighted the portfolio’s significance, stating, “GRiDEA is more than a product line; it represents our commitment to advancing the energy transition. Our solutions not only cut emissions but also enhance grid efficiency, ensuring that electrification and sustainability go hand in hand.”

The GRiDEA portfolio aligns with GE Vernova’s commitment to sustainable practices, incorporating recycled materials such as copper, aluminum, and oil, and replacing copper wiring with fiber optics. Additionally, the portfolio extends equipment lifespan through advanced monitoring systems, control switching devices, and retrofit services, enhancing the long-term sustainability of grid infrastructure.
