Sangam (India) Ltd. has signed an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) agreement with IB Vogt Solar India Pvt. Ltd. for the development of a 27 MWp solar power project in Rajasthan, marking a significant step in the companyโs renewable energy transition.
The solar project will be developed at Village Sangarh in Fatehgarh Tehsil of Jaisalmer district and is intended for captive consumption. Once commissioned, the plant will supply clean power to Sangam Indiaโs operations, helping the company reduce its dependence on conventional grid electricity and lower its carbon footprint.
Under the agreement, IB Vogt Solar India will be responsible for the complete EPC scope of the project. The installed capacity of the solar plant is planned at 27 MWp, with a permissible variation of up to ยฑ5 percent, subject to technical and site conditions.
The project aligns with Sangam Indiaโs broader strategy to integrate renewable energy into its operations and improve long-term energy cost efficiency, while also supporting Indiaโs national targets for expanding solar power capacity.
IB Vogt, a Germany-headquartered solar development company, brings extensive experience in executing large-scale solar projects in India and globally. Its involvement is expected to ensure timely delivery and adherence to quality and performance standards.
The development reflects the growing trend of industrial and manufacturing companies in India adopting captive solar power projects as part of their sustainability and energy security initiatives.
