Epic Energy Limited , a prominent player in the Solar EPC market, has signed an agreement with Niva Ecotech Pvt Ltd to jointly set up a 35 MWp (25 MW) Solar Park in and around Solapur, Maharashtra. This collaboration marks a significant step in expanding India’s solar energy infrastructure.
The agreement, which involves Epic Energy’s 100% subsidiary, Epic Renewable Projects Private Limited, is the company’s first venture in solar park development. “We are very excited about this collaboration with Niva,” said Mr. Pranav Chhatre, Director of Epic Renewable Projects Private Limited. “Our goal is to achieve a total installed capacity of 140 MWp (100 MW) within the next two years, starting with this 35 MWp project in Solapur.”
Niva Ecotech, an established player in the solar park business, brings extensive experience to the partnership. “Solapur is an ideal location for solar parks,” said Mr. Ajay Mundada, Director of Niva Ecotech Pvt Ltd. “We’ve successfully completed several projects in this area over the past three years, and our collaboration with Epic will allow us to further expand India’s solar energy footprint.”
Epic Energy’s CFO, Mr. Nikhil Morsawala, highlighted the business model for the new venture. “We are in advanced negotiations with several blue-chip corporations to set up Solar Energy Plants for them under the Group Captive Open Access system at our proposed Solapur Solar Park. Our aim is to assist Corporate India in reducing their carbon footprint and meeting their ESG goals, while also helping them to significantly lower energy costs,” he explained.
The partnership between Epic Energy and Niva Ecotech is expected to play a crucial role in advancing renewable energy adoption in India, particularly in the state of Maharashtra.
