The Minister of Electricity, Energy and Water, Dr. Ali Saif Mohammed Hassan, along with Deputy Minister Adel Saleh Bader, inspected the progress at the Electrical Industries and Renewable Energy Corporation in Dhahban, Yemen. The visit, which included Dr. Mishaal Al-Rifi, Director General of the General Electricity Corporation, focused on the corporation’s industrial production lines, including electric lighting poles, transformer rehabilitation labs, equipment inspection devices, and wind turbine manufacturing facilities.

The officials were briefed on the institutionโ€™s advancements in producing electrical equipment locally, including simulation systems for factory control and electrical production lines. Minister Saif expressed satisfaction with the developments and stressed the importance of expanding manufacturing to achieve self-sufficiency in Yemenโ€™s electricity sector, aligning with national directives for localization and industrial growth.

In a subsequent meeting, Minister Saif urged collaboration with universities for research-driven advancements and directed the acquisition of materials to support the corporation’s work. Deputy Minister Bader highlighted the need for further support to the corporation, emphasizing the potential for covering the electricity sectorโ€™s material demands and contributing to the water sectorโ€™s needs through local manufacturing efforts.

The visit marks a significant step toward enhancing Yemen’s capacity in electrical and renewable energy production, with future plans to supply locally produced electric poles for critical infrastructure projects across the country.
