Prime Minister Modi Launches 30 MW Solar Projects With BESS Amidst Broad Development Initiatives In Gujarat

In a landmark event in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for a series of development projects worth over ₹8,000 crore. Among the various initiatives, the Prime Minister highlighted significant advancements in the solar sector.

During his visit, Modi inaugurated a 30 MW solar system and a 35-Megawatt Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Solar PV Project at the Kutch Lignite Thermal Power Station. These projects are expected to bolster Gujarat’s renewable energy infrastructure and contribute to the state’s sustainability goals.

The Prime Minister also announced the launch of the Single Window IT System (SWITS) of the International Financial Services Centres Authority, aimed at streamlining financial services, which could potentially impact investments in solar and other renewable energy projects.

Modi’s speech underscored the importance of these projects in the context of broader national development, stating that the first 100 days of his third term have been marked by impactful decisions and advancements. He praised Gujarat’s role in leading the country’s progress, including its strides in solar energy.

In addition to the solar projects, Modi flagged off multiple Vande Bharat trains and laid the groundwork for numerous infrastructure projects. He expressed optimism about the future, envisioning Gujarat as a hub of manufacturing and innovation, including in the renewable energy sector.

The Prime Minister’s remarks were made amidst the celebration of various festivals, reflecting on the dual significance of the occasion as both a time of cultural festivity and a period of significant developmental milestones.
