EDF Renewables Unveils 30 MWp Solar Power Plant in France

EDF Renewables has commissioned the Mulhouse-Habsheim photovoltaic power plant, with an installed capacity of 30 MWp. Situated on repurposed land at the Mulhouse-Habsheim airfield, this solar power plant is now the largest in the Haut-Rhin department.

Located in the municipality of Habsheim, the plant, with a surface area of 23 hectares and a total capacity of 30 MWp, is composed of about 53,000 photovoltaic panels. It produces the equivalent of the electricity consumption of about 15,000 people, three times the population of the municipality.

Jennifer MÉNAGÉ, Director of the North and East Zone at EDF Renewables, said, “We are very pleased to inaugurate the Habsheim photovoltaic power plant. This is the result of close collaboration between the region and EDF Renewables to develop renewable energies. This photovoltaic power plant embodies the energy transition in the Haut-Rhin and uses unused land at the Mulhouse-Habsheim airfield to produce low-carbon electricity.”
