The Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) approved Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd.โ€™s (MSEDCL) procurement of 1,468 MW of Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) from SJVN Limited. The โ‚น4.45-4.46/kWh tariff includes wind, solar, and energy storage systems (ESS) to ensure reliable power during peak hours. This procurement supports MSEDCLโ€™s Renewable Purchase Obligations (RPO) and enhances grid stability. After a transparent e-reverse auction, SECI awarded the project to five companies: Avaada Energy, ReNew Solar, Engie Energy, SAEL Industries, and NTPC Renewable Energy, with tariffs between โ‚น2.57 and โ‚น2.58 per unit. The agreement, finalized with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL), secures the supply of 192 MW of hybrid wind-solar power for 25 years at a tariff of โ‚น3.27 per kWh.

GUVNL Secures 1,000 MW Solar Power With Tariffs As Low As โ‚น2.65/kWh

The Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) initiated a process for procuring power from 500 MW of grid-connected solar projects through a competitive bidding mechanism. The invitation for bids was released on March 15, 2024, with the option for bidders to provide additional capacity through a Greenshoe option, allowing up to 500 MW more without energy storage.
