Gensol Engineering Limited , a prominent player in the renewable energy sector specializing in solar power engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services, has been awarded a significant turnkey EPC contract by a leading public sector utility in Maharashtra. The contract, valued at INR 780 Crore, involves the development of a 150 MWac ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant, set to be executed over a period of 15 months.
Gensol will manage the entire project lifecycle, which includes the critical tasks of land acquisition, design, engineering, procurement, and logistics. The scope of the project encompasses the manufacturing, supply, erection, inspection, installation, testing, and commissioning of the solar PV power plant, along with the development of necessary power evacuation infrastructure to the state transmission utility (STU) substation. Additionally, the contract includes three years of operation and maintenance (O&M) services, covering the maintenance of the plantโs switchyard and extensive transmission infrastructure.

The project aligns with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energyโs (MNRE) forward-looking policy introduced in April 2022, which aims to enhance Maharashtraโs energy infrastructure and contribute to Indiaโs sustainable energy goals. The awarding of this contract to Gensol underscores the companyโs proven track record and increasing expertise in delivering renewable energy projects on time.
