Ducab Group, one of the UAEโs largest energy solutions providers and manufacturers, has announced its membership in the Utilities for Net Zero Alliance (UNEZA) at the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition & Conference (ADIPEC) 2024. This strategic move enhances Ducabโs role in the global energy transition, aligning with the UAEโs commitment to net-zero emissions.
The Utilities for Net Zero Alliance, a global coalition of leading utilities and power companies, is focused on creating energy grids capable of integrating renewable energy, advancing electrification, and promoting clean energy solutions. Ducabโs membership strengthens the allianceโs efforts to address key barriers to emissions reduction and to drive global net-zero objectives through collaborative innovation.
As part of UNEZA, Ducab will work alongside international energy leaders to develop sustainable energy solutions and forge new partnerships aimed at accelerating the transition to a low-carbon future. The companyโs involvement in the Alliance also supports Dubaiโs Clean Energy Strategy 2050, which targets sourcing 75% of the cityโs energy from renewable sources by 2050.
Ducabโs Contribution to Clean Energy
Ducabโs membership in UNEZA comes as part of its broader commitment to the UAEโs net-zero targets. With a portfolio of more than 30 renewable energy projects across the globe, including significant infrastructure contributions to the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park and the Al Dhafra Solar Project, Ducab is playing a key role in shaping the future of renewable energy in the region.
Charles Mellagui, CEO of Ducab Cables Business, commented on the announcement: โJoining UNEZA is a significant milestone for Ducab. Our focus is on integrating high-performance, sustainable manufacturing solutions that support the UAEโs clean energy transition. Through UNEZA, weโre eager to collaborate with global partners to drive impactful initiatives in energy infrastructure that contribute to the UAEโs ambitious net-zero goals.โ
Digital Innovation in Manufacturing
In addition to its renewable energy projects, Ducab is also advancing digital innovation through its Blade Smart Factory. Powered by Industry 4.0 technologies, the facility has increased production by 20%, reduced machine downtime by 30%, and decreased energy consumption by an additional 30%. These advancements in energy-efficient manufacturing align with the UAEโs net-zero objectives and set a new benchmark for sustainable manufacturing practices in the energy sector.
