SOFAR, a global leader in solar PV and energy storage solutions, has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing 5 GW in cumulative Solar PV Inverter shipments in India. The milestone reflects SOFARโ€™s substantial impact on Indiaโ€™s renewable energy expansion, with over 1.3 GW shipped in the first half of 2024 alone.

Innovation and Localization Fuel Success

SOFARโ€™s rapid growth in India is attributed to its strategic focus on product innovation and localization. The companyโ€™s portfolio of advanced string inverters has enabled it to meet the energy needs of Indian customers across utility-scale and commercial & industrial (C&I) projects. “Our inverter technology has become essential in India’s energy transition,โ€ said Sunil Tiku, India Country Manager at SOFAR. “Surpassing 5 GW in shipments underscores our commitment to innovation and localized support for our Indian customers.โ€

Commitment to Localized Service and Support

SOFARโ€™s approach includes establishing regional branches, storage centers, and service hubs throughout India to ensure responsive customer support. Its operational service center and registered office in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, allow SOFAR to provide timely assistance across the country, an approach crucial for large-scale renewable energy projects.
