Huasun Wins 500 MW HJT Module Bid in China Huaneng’s 2024 Procurement Tender Project

On November 15, China Huaneng Group Co., Ltd. (China Huaneng) announced the winners of its 2024 Photovoltaic Module (Second Batch) Framework Agreement Procurement Tender Project. With its leading product strength and excellent market performance, Huasun Energy successfully secured the bid for Section II: 500 MW of heterojunction (HJT) modules. This marks Huasunโ€™s second selection for China Huanengโ€™s HJT initiative, following a successful bid earlier in March this year. It further underscores Huasun’s leadership in n-type high-efficiency PV technology and the strong trust placed in its HJT solutions by leading Chinese state-owned enterprises.

Founded in 1985, China Huaneng is a key state-owned enterprise focused on energy development. In recent years, it has prioritized high-efficiency PV technology and tendered for HJT modules in its projects. Huasun, with its advanced HJT capabilities, has repeatedly won bids from China Huaneng, reinforcing its market leadership. Since late 2022, Huasun has engaged in long-term collaboration with Huaneng Lancang River Hydropower on a 1.7 GW high-efficiency HJT PV project cluster in Dali, Yunnan Province, South China.

This project exclusively uses Huasunโ€™s G12-132 HJT modules, with deliveries commencing at the end of 2022. The project is contributing significantly to the regionโ€™s energy transformation and local economic development. Moreover, Huasun and China Huaneng aim to increase the total installed capacity of the Dali project to 10 GW by 2025. Through deepening cooperation in technological innovation, R&D, industrial synergy, and demonstration projects, both parties seek to advance the integration of clean energy with advanced manufacturing.

Huasun operates four production facilities across China in Xuancheng, Hefei, Dali, and Wuxi, covering the full heterojunction PV industry chain from R&D to manufacturing. These facilities set high standards for efficiency and low-carbon production in the HJT sector. Huasunโ€™s Chairman & CEO, Jimmy Xu, remarked, โ€œOver the past four years, Huasun has served as a large-scale laboratory, providing an open, professional platform for testing and verifying new materials, equipment, and processes related to the HJT industry.โ€

With its leadership in innovative R&D and large-scale HJT production, Huasunโ€™s products have received broad market recognition. To date, Huasun has delivered over 8 GW of high-efficiency HJT products to more than 60 countries and regions, including China, Germany, Bulgaria, Pakistan, and Malaysia. Looking ahead, Huasun will continue to leverage its HJT technology and strengthen partnerships with key stakeholders to drive the high-quality development and transformation of the new energy industry.
