Ormat Launches 20 MW Montague Energy Storage Facility

Ormat Technologies Inc. has officially commenced commercial operations of its Montague energy storage facility in New Jersey. The20MW/20MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) will provide ancillary services to the PJM merchant market, enhancing grid reliablity and flexibility.

The Montague project, eligible for a 30% Investment Tax Credit, marks a strategic expansion of Ormat’s energy storage portfolio in the U.S. With this addition, the company’s total capacity in the PJM market now stands at 120MW/120MWh, reinforcing its commitment to growth in key markets.
