The Embassy of India in Yangon has issued a tender for setting up a 50 KW Solar Power Supply System. Published on January 9, 2025, the tender invites technical and financial bids from authorized dealers, contractors, and experienced firms. The project requires the supply, installation, and commissioning of the solar system in Yangon, with all bids to be submitted by January 30, 2025, at 3:00 PM. Technical bids will be opened on January 31, 2025, at 11:00 AM, followed by financial bids on February 3, 2025, at 3:00 PM.
Each bid must include an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of USD 1,350 in the form of a bank guarantee valid for at least 180 days. The successful bidder will also need to provide a Performance Bank Guarantee (PBG) amounting to 5% of the total contract value, valid for up to 60 days beyond the contract period. This PBG must be deposited within five working days of the contract award.
The scope of work includes supplying solar panels, inverters, LiFePo4 batteries, cables, mounting structures, earthing systems, lightning protection, and distribution panels. It also covers transportation, installation, testing, commissioning, and personnel training for system operation and maintenance. The entire system must come with a minimum five-year warranty or the original equipment manufacturer’s warranty, whichever is longer.
The tender specifies that all equipment must comply with safety standards and perform efficiently in tropical conditions with high humidity and temperature ranges. Vendors must ensure their systems meet these specifications and provide necessary documentation, including operation and maintenance manuals.
The selection process involves a thorough evaluation of technical bids. Only those meeting the required criteria will proceed to the financial bid stage. The tender also mandates on-site inspections and system demonstrations before acceptance.
The Embassy reserves the right to reject any or all bids without providing reasons. The contract will be awarded to the lowest qualifying bidder, with strict adherence to timelines for supply and installation. The project is expected to be completed within three months from the issuance of the purchase order. Queries can be addressed via email or telephone as specified in the tender notice.
